With upcoming Utah State Board of Education meetings addressing the new Balance Act (HB 273), there is a lot of discussion about how classroom technology will change. This video breaks down the specific legislative language around “essential screen time.” Reducing screen time doesn’t mean technology is inherently bad—and we aren’t getting rid of it completely—but it does mean educators will have to do some extra work to strike the right balance for our students.
